This kit was beautifully designed and was a joy to assemble, and has resulted in a lovely and fun decorative display. The attention to detail is astonishing.

The parts in the kit are small and very delicate, and it takes a great deal of care and patience to assemble, but that is exactly what I was looking for.

This was super detailed, really well made, and has thoughtful instructions. The end result was really worth it and I had a great time building it with my adult son and adult niece. Took us about 5 hours. There are a couple tricky steps but nothing insurmountable, just have to be patient (and not be afraid to sand down some pegs to make them fit easier!)

I don't generally write reviews of items I buy elsewhere, but I really love this model. I bought it online from another vendor. It takes a lot of patience to assemble but the end result is great. I estimate it took me about 20 hours to complete. The instructions are very clear and graphically informative. Be prepared for a bit of wood warps but those can be easily fixed. I'm looking forward to building another in the series.

Really enjoyed this project. Quality materials and exacting manufacturing made this go together great and the results were beyond expectations. A dear friend is having surgery soon and I wanted her to have something (other than flowers) to cheer her up. She loves it!!! Followed a you tube video series (Daniel Builds) on the build and it made all the difference in my confidence. Just ordered my second book nook kit and can't wait to get started.

Assembling it was a lot of fun, thought pretty time consuming. The final product looks pretty and neat.I do have some minor complaints about the instructions. They don't always give the most reasonable way to proceed: Sometimes I find switching the orders makes things easier. Also, I encountered a major obstacle in a late step that was caused by a small misalignment I did in an earlier step. I wish the instructions have cautioned me about this.

It was a joy to work on this! Took me about a week, off and on, and I'm so grateful for the spare parts (for the easy to break little bits). Highly recommend when you do the guard rail, insert the base first, then the rail. And be gentle with taking the pieces apart.

The kit was amazingly fun to build and the quality of the kit was perfect. The end result is awesome and the detail is quite good. Would buy again.

I completed the book nook technically within a single day, but it required me to dedicate 12 consecutive hours, so it's not a quick project. I sanded each piece to eliminate any rough edges as I progressed. In certain areas, I opted to use super glue for added stability instead of relying solely on the provided adhesive.

I was pleasantly surprised for how well everything was put together in the package, nothing came broken or damaged. You get almost everything you need in the box, I only bought a pair of small tweezers to help with the tiny pieces. Instructions are very clear, hard to get something wrong if you follow correctly.Overall it took me around 8 hours to put it together, I took my time removing the pieces because I didn't want to damage them. The most difficult part was putting side panels together at the end, it can get a little flimsy until you put in the screws.I initially wanted to do it over a few nights, but I got addicted and stayed up one night to finish it.Looks great between my books after it was finished and I'll probably buy other models as well.

I've seen bought a few diaramas and book nooks past this one, and I can confirm that this was one of the nicer ones! The important pieces are all thick enough to be sturdy. There are spare parts as well, though not as many as I'd like.

This was amazing!!! I love projects like this! It is time-consuming (which is great for me). You need some patience at times while waiting for glue or paint to dry. Which makes it easy to take breaks too. It's so detailed and alluring! I can't wait to do another!

Overall is truly beautiful and I really enjoyed putting it together! It took me about two days (6 hours the first and 3 the second) but it was very enjoyable and relaxing. Instructions were surprisingly very good! My only complain is that some of the holes were small and some pieces would break. You have to be very very careful and when you force something to go in something else will fall apart! It got frustrated at some spots that I had to put some things together and the holes didn’t want to align properly. What I did was I either used the screwdriver provided to open the holes more or I sanded down the edges and glue the pieces instead.I wish they had more Japanese themed puzzles, I would buy them all! My next attempt will be the music box this company has.

I love this product so much! I do have a few points.1. I had to purchase like crafting tools separately. which for me is HIGHLY recommended before you start building.2. noticed that a lot of the small pieces are really fragile. So need to make sure you are light handed on those pieces because I did broke a lot of those pieces (I was able to fix it ;))3. please note that there may be some parts that needs some DIY skills. at lease from my end because I did broke a few of those small pieces.Overall good quality once its fully built! WILL BE PURCHASING THE WHOLE COLLECTION.

I really wanted to try one of these for my new bookshelf and it's so beautiful! It took a long time to put together but it was faster than the last one I did. This one is more sturdy, mostly wooden pieces but with that being said when you press too hard you can break the wood so be careful! I'm happy that the light was easy to install with it being battery powered (unlike others). I love it! Just keep in mind it takes time to do.

Like what some of the other reviews mentioned, it’s definitely recommended if you had certain craft supplies prepared for the build—preferably a xacto knife or additional glue (I used a lot to assure that everything was secured). The pieces are EXTREMELY fragile so watch out for that! I broke several pieces, but they were an easy fix since there were some extras—called “spares” in the manual— and most could be fixed with little dab of glue :) The directions were not that difficult to follow but it’s definitely a lengthy process to set up… however, the process and the final product are very rewarding! It’s so pretty! I will be buying the other sets, but I need to recover first from building this one 😮‍💨

This was a joy to build. I am honestly considering ordering the other kits. Took me probably 8 hours longer than it should have because I had to rewire the battery/switch box since the soldering came loose when I took it out of the package 😩 but I figured it out and got it working, and I love how it turned out.

I love building things like this, and this was definetly a lot of fun.You do have to be careful with a few of the pieces, there are a few that are a little thin and I did break one. Luckily, it was one that I had to glue anyway, so it was really easy to fix.I suggest taking your time removing parts. There is some wiring, but this kit comes with everything you need to build from start to finish. It's also really nice that some of the very small pieces have spares. It is a lot of fun and so cute when it's finished! :)

I love building things and chose this book nook to put next to my Japanese graphic novel collections. The Sakura theme really ties the collections together.

I did modify the light switch though... I replaced the battery pack with an Arduino Nano to control the lights on/off, a timer for the lights, and a 5v plug in power supply so I do not have to keep changing batteries.

All in all, I love it!

Took me about a weekend to complete, the glue was dried up when I got it but I had more glue so it wasn't much of an issue. Be careful removing the parts from the board, because you can get some tearout if you aren't gentle. everything fits together perfectly and I only had two parts where I struggled to stick things together. I like how they include extras of some of the smaller, more fragile parts in case you mess things up, and I feel like this is something more kits should do. The wiring was much easier than on a lot of the other model kits I've worked on, and the little button on the front is a great touch so you don't have to physically take the thing off the shelf every time you want to turn on the lights. Overall, a great little kit that should be easy for beginners as long as you're careful removing the parts from the boards.
