Jenny Colgan's books are nice and so is this one. But there is too much Edinburgh in it I feel. Enjoyed it all the same.

Very cute, loved it

Just about everything in this book evokes memories of the wonderful winter holiday season and Christmas. The descriptions of the shops, streets, castles, and food are perfect and make you feel like you are there enjoying everything. In terms of the plot, The Christmas Bookshop: A Novel tells the story of two sisters, Carmen and Sofia, who live very, I mean very different lives. Carmen is the hard-working, down-on-her-luck sister who can't seem to make ends meet or find the right man, and Sofia is the wealthy sister with the big house, perfect kids, stellar career, and husband who works so much he is never around.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The interpersonal relationship between the sisters is spot on sibling rivalry. It is also a lovely romance story.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the ‘wonder’ of so many scenes, especially describing the snow. I will read the Christmas themed sequel. But I wish it had been continued as a series after the last one ended rather than making it another Christmas themed book.

I greatly enjoyed the story. It is full of magic, love, family, and friendships. Jenny Colgan did a superb job of describing the world in a beautiful way where I felt like I was right there with the characters.

My husband surprised me with this Christmas shop booknook and I truly loved the quality time we spent together. This could easily take two days to assemble. There was on typo on the outside wall other than that everything else was great!

I read dozens of books of all kinds every year and this one stands out a mile! Its multiple story lines are woven expertly and very easy to follow, as are the characters who you can take into your heart immediately. Its imperfect characters in imperfect circumstances are heartwarming and real, as is the background of Edinburgh, Scotland. The situations, characters and background sweep you in from the very beginning which is why it's very hard to put down! Highly recommend!

This is a well written typical Christmas story that is very enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised that the story held more meaning than the typical holiday romance. I would recommend it to anyone who could use a reminder that love of many kinds continues in this confusing, often troubling, world. Read it for relaxing comfort with a cup of hot chocolate on a cold and snowy day.

Carmen followed her heart and read books wherever her interests took her, about space, history, romance, anything she felt like, alighting from one to the next like a butterfly.’

I loved every page of The Christmas Bookshop. It had a few of my favorite things: books, Christmas, snow, sisters and love. Having lived under the diamond achievements of her older sister Sofia, Carmen always felt less than. Sofia grudgingly with their mom's encouragement helps find Carmen a job.

Highly enjoyed putting this together and it is beautiful to look at~

This is a very good kit. The parts snap together very nicely. The instructions are good. It goes together quickly. I used hot glue at certain points when needed. I'd also suggest investing in a small craft hammer if you like the wooden kits as it was key to making sure the joints were tight. Just make sure every piece is glued firmly before moving on to avoid having to re-glue into a space that is too tight to work in. I much prefer the wooden types over the kits with many paper pieces. The wood used in this kit is nice and firm, doesn't break easily. The pieces are a good size as well, not so small that is gets aggravating. Overall, this an excellent kit and the finished product is really pretty and interesting to look at.

This is tied for my second favorite out of the 8 book books/miniatures I’ve done. The detail is great. It is a little more difficult than some of the others and a little less “forgiving” so I wouldn’t recommend this one for first timers. But the quality is great and the pay off is well worth it.

Miniature kits are a new hobby of mine. You put everything in the kit together yourself, and it does require quite a bit of good glue, a lot more time than projected, and a lot of patience. I work a couple of hours at a time and find it engaging and relaxing.

This came out great! My husband loved making it.

This miniature kit was so perfect and was a great way to make my bookshelf more festive. The directions are super informative and the construction is easy. It’s so colorful + detailed and the lights make it extra magical.

My first book nook ever and it was AMAZING!!! The pieces were sturdy and the instruction were pretty good. Only a couple of the instruction pictures were a little too dark and made it harder to see where certain things were supposed to go, but it wasn't that hard to figure out. So much fun to build and lots of details to look at! 10/10 would recommend!!

Very good quality item. It is made from high-quality wood boards, with exceptionally smooth surfaces and neatly finished edges. The instruction manual clearly illustrates the assembly of each component, which will be very helpful for you. Overall, it comes highly recommended both as a gift and as a decorative piece.

This is such a great gift! The quality is really excellent. It does take some time to assemble, but the included sanding stick and tweezers make putting it together much easier and bring a lot of fun. I highly recommend it!

Over all vey pleased. Everything went together well. I just glued(mod podge glue) as I went along and that worked out great. No missing pieces. For the money you can’t beat it! I hid a couple of the LED lights in different spots than what they recommended to make the light a bit more ambient. Would/will buy again. All in all a pretty fun project. Some people said the wood was warped, I did not have that problem with the one I got. Tons of little details in the project without looking silly. Would make a great gift for someone who likes this sort of thing.

Health & Wealth

Got this as a gift for my wife and so far she is really enjoying putting this together. It's definitely made for people with smaller hands and the items are super tiny. It's cool looking though.

This took a while for My wife and I to put together. As in like, a whole day. It was a lot of fun working together and seeing it all come together piece by piece. It really is very cool looking when it's completed. If you're looking to kill some boredom, be warned. It will take hours no matter how experienced you are with crafting and the like. 10/10 5 stars etc. Exactly what I wanted.

Absolutely adorable when assembled. The directions are straight forward and easy to follow.
